Today I start my first blog...

For my first ceremonial post I would like to talk about this fabulous book I just read; Goat Song by Brad Kessler. Maybe this tops my list because of a simpler life I dream of, or maybe because I find that I am fascinated with goats. In either case it was a perfect read and one I luckily happened upon during one of my business trips. I had forgot to pack the book I was reading at the time and was in desperate need of a new book. I was staying in the quaint little town of Doylestown, PA when I happened upon the Doylestown Book Store. This little paperback was sitting on a table waiting for me to pick it up. I loved the town, loved the bookstore and loved the book. How often does that happen.

The story shares the remarkable and journey of Brad and his wife Dona as they move to Vermont and establish a goat farm. Brad shares the trials and tribulations from bringing home the very first goats to the art of making goat cheese. It's a wonderful read and will bring a new perspective to goats in general and a simpler way of life. It's one I will keep in my library for future reads.
